At Lumle, we endeavor to provide as much as information possible to our customers which helps them to plan their forthcoming holiday better. In this, when to go to the Thailand section, we have sketched a rough guide, when to travel to this country.
The weather in Thailand varies throughout and this wonderful country lets you have the opportunity to visit all year round. The best times to visit Thailand are November, December, January, February, March, and April when the weather is generally chillier and dry.
The weather in Thailand differs from one coast to another. The west coastal region is more promising during the winter seasons for diving and snorkeling. On the other hand, the weather in the east coastal region remains decent for most of the year with minimal rain in January and February and a lot more in November.
Except for Koh Samui which goes through high levels of precipitation, January is a great time to go to Thailand, especially because of little rainfall and pleasant weather. The weather is consistent throughout the month with cooler temperatures, making it easier to explore main sites throughout your tour.
February starts with some frequent showers, but the rest of the year remains dry and warm. The mornings that used to be cool also start to heat up.
March is warmer than February, the warmer temperatures rising throughout all parts of the country, and it makes a perfect time to sunbathe on the sun-kissed beaches.
In April, the weather is exceptional, even better than last month. Songkran, Thai New Year, is one of the reasons many visitors come to Thailand, so we advise you to book hotels in advance. Scented water is poured over people and thrown in the street to symbolize the washing away of sins and bad luck.
Across May to June, the weather is perfect, getting the last months of the dry weather. May is a great time to get a grasp of lower prices and June matches with European holidays. Thailand is spotlighted in sunlight at around this time of year.
Throughout July, August, and September, the weather gets wet, making the temperatures cooler and the dry seasons leave. However, for those who want to avoid crowds at main sites, this time of year is perfect for you.
From October to December, the weather gradually gets warmer and cooler. October starts with frequent downpours, but towards the end of the month the humidity levels decrease, and a less chance of rainfall. This makes it a comfortable time to travel whilst avoiding crowds. December is a peak month when many visitors come to Thailand, so book far in advance to get a good choice of hotels. It’s the Christmas Rush! The only exception is that Koh Samui faces high rainfall at this time of year.
