January- February
In north and very mountainous areas, such as Beijing and the mountains of Yunnan, winters are chilly but dry, with drizzles of snow in the night and clear skies during the day. In other places around China, the warm, humid levels make the environment cold and damp, however, it is still really busy due to the Chinese New Year and the Harbin Ice Festival.
March
The weather in March is warmer than in February, as fruit trees start to blossom. Blossoms in China, found in very rural areas, such as Gala village in Nyingchi, Xizang Autonomous Region, are spectacular for your eyes to mesmerise.
April
April is slightly rainy in southern and central areas, although the temperatures are fairly warm. The Tomb-sweeping Festival takes place in April, where residents clean graveyards, gardens and more, so the country is busy overall.
May
May is one of the best months to go on holiday to China, as the well is sunny and bright but not too hot for the sweaty streak of heat in summer. The days of the beginning of May are national holidays, so many people are busy. The Dragon Boat Festival takes place, where in major cities and towns, dragon boats race.
June
June is the start of summer when the weather is warm, however, you can still expect downpours of rain at times, but the plants and mother nature will be verdant and bright. River levels are also high.
July
Summer in China hits the peak, where temperatures in western China reach 40°C, and also in the south. The mountainous areas are cooler which makes a perfect time to hike.
August
The country throughout is hot and humid, but northern Yunnan is cooler around this time of year.
September
September isn’t too hot or cold, but the perfect temperature to adventure anywhere. The Mid-Autumn Festival takes place where people eat moon cakes, and hang paper lanterns and in some rural regions, they may do dragon boat races.
October
October is busy at the start as it’s a national holiday in the first week, however, the rest of October is a great climate, with warm temperatures, drizzles of rain at infrequent times and a flabbergasting view at the corner of your eyeball.
November
It isn’t as busy in November, so if you’re fond of quiet places, it’s November that avoids many crowds. The north of China may see their first snowfall. Days become cool and chill, making it a perfect time to visit if you like cooler temperatures.
December
December is cold in China, especially in Western China, with extremely low temperatures, but you have sites to yourself. Western China is extremely cold, and you should not visit. Southern China has warmer temperatures compared to other areas.
