The safety, security and well-being of our customers and employees is at the forefront of everything we do. The below measures outline how Lumle is approaching any risk/potential disruption related to our holidays.

Lumle Policy on Travel following the recent COVID-19 outbreak

1. Should the FCO, global or local health authorities advise against travel or impose severe restrictions on movement within a country. In such circumstances we will contact you with the options.

2. We continue to monitor the World Health Organisation (WHO) country statistics and the FCO for all countries we visit on a daily basis, and will communicate with customers if we believe an increase in risk in that country is likely to require changes to their holiday.

3. We have been closely liaising with our local partners monitoring the our ongoing groups and tour leaders are advised to be vigilant about potential exposure to the virus for themselves and for group members; be aware of the symptoms; be aware of the standard protective measures should they be required.

We are confident that we have sufficient measures in place to maintain the safety, security and well-being of all our customers and employees and unless we specifically advise you otherwise, standard booking terms and conditions apply for anyone who wishes to delay, transfer or cancel their booking due to Coronavirus concerns.

Lumle Policy on Travel to China following FCO Travel Advice

[a] We are carefully monitoring the current FCO travel advice on a daily basis, in line with our forthcoming tour departures.
[b] Currently the travel advice to China is to avoid all travel to Hubei Province as well as all but essential travel to mainland China (not including Hong Kong and Macao).
[c] All tours to China that are scheduled to depart up to 30 April 2020 have been cancelled and those customers affected due to this have been contacted. All our tours to China beyond 30 April are currently planned to operate as normal.

May onwards departures

[a] We are expecting our trips to run smoothly without any issues.
[b] In the unlikely event that we are unable to offer your full tour, we will be in contact before your tour departure to discuss your options with you.

Standard Policy on Travel Safety & Changes to your holiday

Our policy on travel safety advice from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office [FCO] is as follows:

[a] We will always follow FCO advice, and we will not operate trips to areas where the advice is against all non-essential travel. In such circumstances we will contact you with the options.
[b] Decisions about when to cancel upcoming trips are made on a rolling basis, as the FCO travel advice can change at any time. Where the FCO travel advice for a country is temporarily against all non-essential travel, we will not normally cancel trips more than 6 weeks before the date of departure.
[c] The safety, security and well-being of our customers and employees is always our utmost top priority and we will continue to monitor the situation.
[d] If you wish to amend or cancel your booking due to Coronavirus concerns, standard terms and conditions associated with your booking apply.
